Design Philosophy
Preserves the appearance and proportions of the historical 29th Army Dadao while incorporating structural improvements for greater durability and reliability
Historical Background
The Dadao (大刀) has a long history in China, but its most iconic modern image is closely associated with Chinese soldiers during the Second Sino-Japanese War.
Among the units most famously associated with the weapon was the 29th Route Army of the National Revolutionary Army, commanded by General Song Zheyuan. In July 1937, the 29th Route Army fought in the Beiping–Tianjin region following the Marco Polo Bridge Incident. Its soldiers became particularly remembered for their use of the Dadao in close combat, and the weapon subsequently became an enduring symbol of Chinese resistance during the early years of the war.
