Blade Performance The blade uses the same forged wide-tang manganese steel construction found in the Ming Lotus Song Jian, a mature and proven design known for balanced hardness, flexibility, and toughness without major compromises. In handling, the sword feels tight and lively while still maintaining flexibility. Despite being a broad and relatively heavy Jian, it produces a distinct cutting whistle during swings. Cutting impacts transmit responsive feedback into the palm without causing excessive shock or numbness.
